Sodium citrate
Sodium citrate, with the chemical formula Na₃C₆H₅O₇·2H₂O and CAS number 6132-04-3, is a non-toxic, water-soluble inorganic salt.
It appears as colorless crystals or a white crystalline powder with a slightly salty taste. It possesses good buffering, chelating, and antioxidant properties.
Sodium citrate is a commonly used chemical raw material produced by the neutralization reaction of citric acid and is widely used in food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, water treatment, and daily chemical products.
Packaged in 25kg bags, custom packaging is available.
Main Application Areas
1. Food Industry:
As an acidity regulator, buffer, emulsifier, and preservative, it is commonly used in beverages, dairy products, jams, juices, candies, and baked goods. It can adjust pH values, enhance flavor, and prevent metal ion oxidation.
2. Pharmaceutical Industry:
As an anticoagulant, buffer, and electrolyte regulator, it is used in injections, blood transfusions, anticoagulants, antithrombotic drugs, and urine alkalizing agents. It has high safety and good biocompatibility.
3. Detergent and Daily Chemical Industry:
Used as a chelating agent and water softener, it removes metal ions and improves the detergency and stability of detergents. It is widely used in laundry detergents, dishwashing liquids, and cosmetics.
4. Water Treatment and Chemical Industry:
Used as a complexing agent and corrosion inhibitor in boiler water and circulating cooling water systems to prevent metal ion precipitation and corrosion.
5. Electronics and Environmental Protection Industry:
Used as a component of metal plating solutions and an additive in environmentally friendly cleaning agents, providing good complexing and buffering properties.
